Take Photos on Kindle Fire HD (2nd Generation)

You can use the front-facing camera on your Kindle Fire HD 7" (2nd Generation) or Kindle Fire HD 8.9" (2nd Generation) to take photos. When you take a photo with the front-facing camera on your Kindle Fire, the photos are automatically stored and accessible from Amazon Drive.

Note: Kindle Fire (2nd Generation) does not have a camera.

To take photos with the camera on your Kindle Fire HD:

  1. From Home, tap Photos.
  2. Tap the Camera camera icon icon.
  3. Tap the Shutter shutter icon icon.
  4. Tap the thumbnails to view your photo. You can share or email the photo, delete it, or tap the Menu icon for more options.
Tip: Photos taken with the camera on your Kindle Fire are automatically uploaded to your Amazon Drive account. Automatic photo uploads count against your total Amazon Drive storage, and are enabled by default when you're connected to a Wi-Fi network. To turn Automatic Uploads on or off, tap the Menu icon while in the Photos library, and then tap Settings. If you own a Kindle Fire HD 8.9" 4G LTE Wireless, you may choose to upload your photos over Wi-Fi or use your mobile data connection for the upload.
