Take Photos on Kindle Fire HD (2nd Generation)
You can use the front-facing camera on your Kindle Fire HD 7" (2nd Generation) or Kindle Fire HD 8.9" (2nd Generation) to take photos. When you take a photo with the front-facing camera on your Kindle Fire, the photos
are automatically stored and accessible from Amazon Drive.
Note: Kindle Fire (2nd Generation) does not have a camera.
To take photos with the camera on your Kindle Fire HD:
- From Home, tap Photos.
- Tap the Camera
icon.
- Tap the Shutter
icon.
- Tap the thumbnails to view your photo. You can share or email the photo, delete it,
or tap the Menu
icon for more options.
Tip: Photos taken with the camera on your Kindle Fire are automatically uploaded to your
Amazon Drive account. Automatic photo uploads count against your total Amazon Drive
storage, and are enabled by default when you're connected to a Wi-Fi network. To turn
Automatic Uploads on or off, tap the
Menu

Photos library, and then tap
Settings.
If you own a Kindle Fire HD 8.9" 4G LTE Wireless, you may choose to upload your photos
over Wi-Fi or use your mobile data connection for the upload.
