Can't Hear Audio From Speakers

You can't hear any audio when you play a movie, listen to music, play a game, or browse the web.

Before you begin, make sure that:

  • The volume is high enough on your device. Swipe down from the top of the screen, tap Volume, and then use the roller bar to adjust the volume.
  • You don't have an accessory plugged into the headphone jack. Any accessory plugged into the headphone jack will prevent external audio playback. Unplug the accessory from the headphone jack, and then play your content again.
  • You're using a compatible Kindle Fire cover. Cases or covers not designed by Amazon may not be built to fit the device's specifications. Remove the protective case from your Kindle Fire to see if that resolves your issue.

If you still can't hear any audio, restart your Kindle Fire:

  1. Press and hold the Power button for 40 seconds or until the device restarts automatically. If your device restarts automatically before 40 seconds has passed, release the Power button. If your device does not automatically restart after 40 seconds, press the Power button to turn it on.
