Using your oven as a microwave
When using electrical appliances basic safety precautions should be followed, including the following:
WARNING: FAILURE TO FOLLOW THESE SAFETY INSTRUCTIONS COULD RESULT IN FIRE, BURNS, ELECTRIC SHOCK, EXPOSURE TO EXCESSIVE MICROWAVE ENERGY, OTHER INJURY, OR DAMAGE.
WARNING: CHOKING HAZARD - SMALL PARTS CONTAINED IN THE APPLIANCE OR PACKAGING MAY PRESENT A CHOKING HAZARD TO SMALL CHILDREN. KEEP OUT OF REACH OF CHILDREN.
WARNING: The external surface of the oven may be hot during operation or shortly thereafter. Use caution when touching external surfaces of the oven. Do not place anything on top of the oven or in close proximity of such surfaces.
WARNING: Improper use of grounding can result in risk of electric shock. Consult a qualified electrician or service person if you do not completely understand these grounding instructions or if you are unsure if the appliance is properly grounded.
This appliance must be grounded. In the event of an electrical short circuit, grounding reduces the risk of electric shock by providing an escape wire for the electric current. This appliance is equipped with a cord having a grounding wire with a grounding plug. The plug must be plugged into an outlet that is properly installed and grounded. If the plug will not fit into a receptacle, have the proper receptacle installed by a qualified electrician.

Your oven can be controlled with Alexa using any Alexa-enabled device such as an Echo, Echo Dot, or the Alexa app. To control your oven using Alexa, you'll need to set up your oven and connect to Alexa. To do so:
Once your oven is set up, it will beep and the LED will display the Wi-Fi icon and the local time in your location. You will also be able to access the oven's Settings in the Devices section of the Alexa app.
Note: It may take a few minutes for the LED to display the correct local time.
The Ask Alexa button makes Alexa control even simpler. Instead of saying, "Alexa, microwave for 1 minute," just press and release the Ask Alexa button and say "1 minute."
The Ask Alexa button will instantly put a paired Alexa-enabled device in listening mode, just as saying "Alexa" would.
To set up and manage the Ask Alexa button, go to the oven's Settings page in the Devices section of the Alexa app and select Ask Alexa.
Refer to the back cover of this user manual or the Things to Try card for more examples of how the Ask Alexa button can make using Alexa even simpler.
You can use your oven without setting it up for Alexa control. However, we highly recommend using your oven with Alexa control to unlock its full potential.
Throughout this section, the following icons indicate:

While Wi-Fi is off, Alexa will not be able to send commands to your oven and you won't see oven updates in the Alexa app. You will still be able to cook using the oven's keypad. For more information, refer to Device Settings on page 23.
Enable Remote Start Pressing this button will put the oven into Remote Start mode, allowing you to issue voice or in-app commands to operate the oven beyond the normal 10-minute window after the oven door has been opened and closed. Once in Remote Start mode the oven will stay that way for 24 hours, as long as the door is not opened or any other keys are pressed on the keypad. The display will show the number of hours left in Remote Start mode. While the oven is in Remote Start mode, you can issue voice or in-app commands to operate any of the convection cooking modes, such as , air fry, convect, keep warm, and auto roast. For safety reasons, microwave cooking modes cannot be commanded via voice or in-app commands while the oven is in Remote Start mode.
